Scott MacGregor, MBA, RRP

ARC President

Scott MacGregor is a 30-year resort industry veteran with executive experience in project planning, development, marketing, management, and finance.  Scott entered the resort industry with California’s Watt Industries in 1985, then the State’s market leader in timeshare, condo-hotel and luxury condominium development.

Scott MacGregor is a 30-year resort industry veteran with executive experience in project planning, development, marketing, management, and finance.  Scott entered the resort industry with California’s Watt Industries in 1985, then the State’s market leader in timeshare, condo-hotel and luxury condominium development.

 

Scott worked in resort management and directed the firm’s rental programs for southern California.  Among later industry roles, Scott, served as president of Tricom Realty Services, Inc. for ten years and was Interval International’s Region Manager for the northeast U.S. and eastern Canada.  For more than a decade, Scott served as Chief Financial Officer for InnSeason Resorts.  In addition to finance and accounting oversight, Scott’s responsibilities included strategic planning, brand management, product development, risk management, compliance and corporate operations. Scott was the primary architect of the InnSeason Vacation Club and co-founder of InnSeason Management, Inc.

 

In 2012 he co-founded CaryMacGregor with longtime associate Woody Cary to deliver tools for strategic planning and execution to timeshare and mixed-use communities.  In addition to his leadership role in the American Resort Collection, Scott provides advisory services on timeshare and hotel development, operations, technology and repositioning as a principal of The Asset & Property Management Group, Inc. Scott also serves as a strategic advisor to Americas Bridge International, LLC, directing investment to timeshare and mixed-use projects in Brazil.

Scott is the immediate past Chairman of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) International Foundation Research Committee, is a member of the ARDA State Legislative Committee and New England ARDA Executive Board, and is past chair of that region’s Legislative & Regulatory Oversight Committee.  Scott is a past chairman of ARDA’s International Timeshare Foundation’s Thinktank series, and was a member of the ARDA California State Legislative Committee.

 

He authored numerous articles for The Resort Trades, Timesharing Today, Developments and Vacation Industry Review on topics including multi-site resort management, relationship marketing and project workouts. His presentations on trends in resort management, changes in the timeshare industry and the future of independent resorts have been featured at recent ARDA regional and national conferences. He serves as a founding member of the Board of Advisors to the Timeshare Board Members Association.

 

Scott is a real estate broker in the states of California, Florida and Massachusetts.  Scott received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1982.  In May of 2000 he earned an MBA in International Business as a fellow at Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Management in Boston, receiving the program’s prestigious Book Award and highest academic honors.  While at Suffolk he met Valéria Dias of São Paulo, Brazil whom he later married.  Valéria, Scott and their three sons live in Orlando, Florida.

Frank G. Murphy is CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Resort Collection (ARC). In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy, financial activities, including financial reporting, tax and treasury functions, planning and analysis, capital structure, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and insurance and risk management. In addition, Mr. Murphy oversees the Company’s information technology and corporate communications functions.

 

Mr. Murphy joined ARC in February 2015. Mr. Murphy is a partner at Capricorn Properties a financial advisory firm and commercial property investment company. Mr. Murphy has over 25 years of broad-based business experience with extensive expertise in the areas of business startups, corporate restructuring, business management and strategic planning, complex financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting.

Prior to joining, ARC Mr. Murphy was an executive of Landmark Global Associates where he was responsible for numerous transactions including the sale of 18 consumer and trade shows to a leading publicly traded media company.  Prior to that, Mr. Murphy was an executive of Cendant Corporation, where he was part of the team who established Cendant’s corporate headquarters in Europe.  Mr. Murphy was responsible for mergers and acquisitions where he oversaw transactions totalling $3 billion in the hospitality and travel sector.
